Morton, Marcham, and Harli White Crowned in Season Finale!

Cody Morris, Kennedale, TX (11-12-2011) - Over 100 race teams competed in the second and final round of the Cowtown Crown featuring the Lucas Oil American Small Car Series season finale. With three top talents crowned with Lucas Oil ASCS2 Titles, each team had their eyes on the finale's 1st place prize.

A thankfully warm weekend of northern Texas dirt track racing delivered a fantastic set of events featuring the top talents in regional mini sprint racing.

Former back-to-back ASCS Gulf South sprint car champion Brandon Berryman led the headlining 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event to green with Lindsay, Oklahoma's Outlaw powerhouse Harli White alongside.

Berryman set a quick pace with White dogging him each of the first 3 laps before Berryman's outing to a hard left turn for the worse as the Missouri City, Texas native spun to a tumble entering turn one. White would assume the point with Sapulpa, Oklahoma's newly crowned back to back Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion Blake Hahn advancing from his 6th place starting slot to the runner up position.

A series of stoppages through the midway point of the 25 lap affair would see White get the best of the restart over Hahn. However, the 14th lap would see a sensational weekend for Richmond, Texas native Wyatt Rector come to a grinding halt as his mount slowed with mechanical woes while running third behind White and Hahn.

Immediately out of the restart, Hahn hounded White in each turn, twice sliding into the lead only to see White charge back by. On lap 17, White would put an end to the duel and develop an advantage that ultimately proved too good for the 2010 and 2011 back to back Outlaw Champion.

Harli White would finish the 2011 campaign in the exact fashion she began it, in Lucas Oil ASCS2 victory lane at Cowtown Speedway aboard the Metric Cycles powered no.17w Hyper Racing machine. The win marked White's 4th of the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw campaign, while also netting the rising star a cool $1,000 payday.

While Hahn settled for runner up honors aboard the Speedway Vending sponsored and Metric Cycles powered no. 52 machine, the finish powered the Sapulpa standout to a 2nd consecutive Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship.

A Longview, Texas native and standout in regional Outlaw mini sprint action, especially at Cowtown Speedway, Tyson Hall delivered yet another outstanding performance, charging from his 18th place starting position to claim a hard charging show position finish at the final stripe aboard the Pine Tree Motors powered no. 5x.

Tulsa, Oklahoma native Billy Lawhead climbed from his 9th place starting position to claim fourth at the line, with Matthew Baldwin rounding out the top 5 finishing order.

Chance McRarey, Brandon Berryman, and Billy Lawhead claimed heat race wins over the 31 car Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw field, with Pryor, Oklahoma's Frank Flud topping the 12 lap B Feature event.

The 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event featured yet another explosive bout of racing, with a stunning finish included. But first it was Lone Star State native Coy Jorden leading the field to green with preliminary night winner Caleb Martin alongside.

Martin would pick up where he left off the previous night, assuming the lap lead before a Kyle Jones flip would halt action on the 2nd circuit. It would mark the first of a dozen stoppages throughout the affair. Martin endured each stoppage and restart, but not without several challengers, the most tenacious being outside 7th row starter Chipper Wood.

Wood had advanced into the top 5 withing the three laps and began immediate pursuit of Martin midway through the 20 lap feature event. With five laps remaining the lead duo swapped the lead in each turn before Martin began to pull away.

Martin appeared to be heading for a weekend sweep until a dust up involving Kyle Jones and Steven Shebester nullified the checkered flag, creating a green-white-checkered finish.

It was a finish that required 3 attempt to complete. Martin led Jorden, Martin, Tyson Hall, and Trey Marcham to the first attempt to complete the final two laps, but Coy Jorden's sliding attempt to snare the lead backfired, sending his spinning to a stop on the backstretch, with Peyton Williams clipping Jorden's stalled mount and flipping several times. Both drivers emerged ok, but done for the night.

As Wood moved into prime position to battle Martin, Tyson Hall spun to a short flip while running third. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma's Trey Marcham would move up to third in the running order.

As the green and white flags flew, Chipper Wood sent his mount in for a turn one slider for the lead, but resulting contact with the leading Martin allowed Marcham to slide underneath both and make it a 3 wide battle down the backstretch.

It would be Marcham making the best of the low line to pick up the $1,000 score, as well as his third win of the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing campaign in crowd pleasing fashion aboard the Concept Chassis, RD Marcham Energy, Pinnacle Energy Services, Simpson, and LE Norman Operatic LLC sponsored no. 32.

Wood attained the runner up spot in the wild finish, with Martin settling for show position honors, leading all but one lap in Non Wing action for the weekend.

Taylor Smitherman battled up from his 17th starting spot to cross the final stripe fourth, with Dalton Terrell completing the top 5 running order.

Kaley Engstrom, Cord Dodson, Chipper Wood, Kyle Jones, and Blake Hahn each took heat race wins over the 38 car Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing field, with Sterling Hoff and Josh Marcham scoring B Feature victories.

The Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted division has been among the hardest fought of the three ASCS2 divisions, it just so happens those battles were mostly for 2nd.

Coweta, Oklahoma's Chance Morton entered the Cowtown Crown and ASCS2 Season finale with a 100+ point lead in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 title chase. Morton clinched the championship with a preliminary night score Friday.

Morton drew pole in the 6 way redraw, leading the field to the 1st of 20 laps of Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event action alongside Johnny Boland.

With a pair of cautions on the 6th and 7th circuit spoiling strong weekend for both Colton Wiseley and Cord Dodson, they marked the only stoppages of a 20 lap event that saw Boland hound Morton throughout with hometown Christian Kinnison joining the fray.

Boland persisted on a high line above Morton, only to slide over the turn 4 rim with 3 laps remaining. Kinnison picked up where Boland left off, looking underneath Morton.

But Kinnison was unable to unseat Morton as the latter took his series' best 7th victory of the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted campaign aboard the Intruder Chassis, Morton Excavating, Momo's Racing Engines, and Napa sponsored no. 7m.

Kinnison ultimately accepted runner up honors, his season best finish, with Dylan Fox claiming the show position. Boland was able to recover from his lap 17 error, crossing the stripe fourth. Lyndon Harvey completed the top 5 running order.

Boland, Kinnison, and Grady Chandler each claimed heat race victories over the 25 car Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted field.

Morton, Martin, and Hahn Roll to Prelim Wins!

Cody Morris, Kennedale, Texas (11-11-11) - A stout field of 91 regional race teams signed in to compete in the preliminary night of the Lucas Oil American Small Car Series season finale at the 1/4 mile high banks of Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas.

Setting up the 2011 season for both the Lucas Oil American Small Car Series and Cowtown Speedway, the evening would see each of the three 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 titles clinched, as well as 3 return visits to victory lane.

Needing only to complete 1 lap of competitive action clinch his second consecutive Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship, Sapulpa, Oklahoma's Blake Hahn did just that and then some.

By virtue of a strong heat race outing, the top 6 in passing points would redraw for the top 3 starting rows of the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event. While Hahn drew the pole position, fellow front row starter Josh Toho would fail to answer the starting call, thus moving Matthew Baldwin into the outside front row starting slot.

Outlaw main event action struggled to get underway, with two seperate incident involving top 5 starting drivers denying completion of a lap. The third attempt approved continuation, with Lindsay, Oklahoma's Harli White immediately busting through to challenge Hahn for the lead.

A winner in season opening Outlaw action at Cowtown Speedway, White nabbed the early lead, albeit with Hahn in dogged pursuit. As the lead duo reached lapped traffic, Hahn maneuvered through a set of lapped cars to regain the race lead just before a lap 9 caution for a stalled Morgan Montgomery mount in turn 2.

Four cautions would fly over the following 3 laps, with White testing Hahn's low side immediately into turn 1 upon restarts, but each time Hahn shut the door, and did so a final time after the final race stoppage with 8 laps remaining.

Hahn maintained a 2-4 car length lead as White shadowed his leading pace, but ultimately fail to mount a serious offense as the reigning Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw champion earned his fifth ASCS2 Outlaw score of the 2011 campaign aboard the Speedway Vending, Metric Cycles, and La Joie Seating sponsored no. 52.

As White settled for runner up honors, a sensational late race rally had many bystanders convinced that just a few more laps could have netted the Lone Star state an Outlaw score as Richmond, Texas' Wyatt Rector had moved from 7th to 3rd under green flag conditions and had fully negated the sizeable margin the lead duo had with just 3 laps remaining.

A former GCS Champion in his rookie bid, the young south Texan claimed his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 podium with his show position finish. Coweta, Oklahoma's Kade Morton outdueled Howard Moore for the 4th and final lock in spot to Saturday night's season finale main event.

Howard Moore, Matthew Baldwin, Wyatt Rector, and Harli White each claimed heat race victories over the 30 car Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw field, with Chris McNitt topping the 12 lap B Feature.

B Feature #1 1: McNitt, Chris (10) 2: Flud, Frank (08) 3: Montgomery, Morgan (14m) 4: Tyer, Jason (12) 5: Scott, Ron (01) 6: Kirkes, Rick (72k) 7: Haggerty, Doug (19) 8: Peterson, Shawn (4p) 9: Hall, Tyson (5x)

A Feature 1: Hahn, Blake (52) 2: White, Harli (17) 3: Rector, Wyatt (7) 4: Morton, Kade (8m) 5: Moore, Howard (23) 6: Lawhead, Billy (59) 7: Jones, Kyle (69) 8: Harvey, Will (2) 9: Wiseley, Dalton (22) 10: Baldwin, Matthew (43) 11: Evans, Scotty (118) 12: McNitt, Chris (10) 13: Masters, Steve (70) 14: Cantrell, Eric (05) 15: Debrick, Brian (10x) 16: McCrary, Chance (13m) 17: Davis, Philip (69x) 18: Salisbury, Drew (12s) 19: Klaasmeyer, Tucker (27) 20: Tyer, Jason (12) 21: Flud, Frank (08) 22: Montgomery, Morgan (14m) 23: Berryman, Brandon (155) 24: Toho, Josh (55)

Always a hotly contested affair that boosts the adrenaline of regional dirt track fans, the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing affair would once again provide the needle threading action it is best known for. However, not without controversy.

Angleton, Texas native Caleb Martin led fellow front row starter and 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Champion to the initial start, as well as the early lead. But lap 2 contact between Martin and Bell would send Bell spinning to a slow tumble along the backstretch. Bell would rejoin the field under his own power, but tag the rear of the 24 car main event lineup.

A winner of EMSA Non Wing action at Cowtown in June, as well as the 2009 November Non Wing special, Martin would dominate throughout the 20 lap main event, however the action behind him was fierce, with Tyson Hall exercising a daring late race move to gain 3 positions in one turn, with Bell battling his way from 24th back up to 6th at the final stripe.

But it would prove too little too late, as Martin snared his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing score of the 2011 campaign aboard the Hyper Racing, MMW, Elkins Racing, and Ace Racing Exhaust no. 51m machine.

Hall would make up for a disappointed mechanical failure in Outlaw action with his runner up performance, with Ryan Jaisle taking show position honors. Coy Jorden would get the better of a late race duel with newly crowned 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Champion Steven Shebester, with Jorden snaring the 4th and final lock in spot to Saturday's season finale main event.

A Pauls Valley, Oklahoma native and 2010 Non Wing runner up, Shebester's ninth top 5 run of the year may have been one spot shy of a direct transfer into saturday night's main event, but supported by a trio of 2011 Non Wing victories, it would be more than enough to earn his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing Championship aboard the Concept Chassis, Metric Cycles, Keiser Wheels, Shebester Carbs, C&D Ditching, and Gordon Seros Racing Engines sponsored orange and black no. 82 Concept mount

Christopher Bell, Caleb Martin, Ryan Jaisle, Kevin Batterbee, and Steven Shebester topped heat race action over the 36 car Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing field, with Tyson Hall and Chris McNitt each scoring 12 lap B Feature victories.

B Feature #2 1: Jones, Kyle (67T) 2: Smitherman, Taylor (21t) 3: Marcham, Josh (8) 4: Fifield, Justin (112) 5: Hoff, Sterling (39) 6: Venable, Brent (91) 7: Shouse, Andy (13) 8: Masters, Steve (70) 9: McNitt, Chris (99) 10: Debrick, Brian (10)

B Feature #1 1: Hall, Tyson (5x) 2: Kinnison, Christian (182) 3: Martin, Keith (99m) 4: Dodson, Cord (7) 5: Estes, DJ (74E) 6: Hahn, Blake (51) 7: Estes, Claude (74E) 8: Gilbert, Stoney (68s) 9: Estes, Colby (71) 10: Scherb, Logan (18)

A Feature 1: Martin, Caleb (51m) 2: Hall, Tyson (5x) 3: Jaisle, Ryan (97) 4: Jorden, Coy (15) 5: Shebester, Steven (82) 6: Bell, Christopher (19) 7: White, Harli (17) 8: Tyer, Jason (12t) 9: Martin, Keith (99m) 10: Toho, Josh (42) 11: Marcham, Trey (321) 12: Wood, Chipper (47) 13: Marcham, Josh (8) 14: Engstrom, Kaley (61) 15: Fifield, Justin (112) 16: Smitherman, Taylor (21t) 17: Williams, Peyton (22) 18: Evans, Scotty (114) 19: Peterson, Shawn (4p) 20: Anderson, Kyle (55) 21: Batterbee, Kevin (1) 22: Jones, Kyle (67T) 23: Dodson, Cord (7) 24: Kinnison, Christian (182)

Fierce battles throughout the duration of the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted campaign would be revisited early and often in the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event. While Lone Star native Dylan Fox led the field to the opening green, it was Coweta, Oklahoma's Chance Morton picking up where he left off in October ASCS2 action at Cowtown.

Following a nasty front straightaway tumble for El Reno, Oklahoma's Kyle Keeler after contact with hometown Christian Kinnison, Morton wasted no time in gunning into the lead. Many races were left in the field, but they would not be for the point as Morton pulled off an October repeat of absolute dominance.

The wire to wire victory marked Morton's series' wide best sixth main event triumph, while also clinching the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Championship aboard the Morton Excavating, Intruder Chassis, Momo's Racing Engines, and Napa sponsored black no. 7m mount.

Sand Springs, Oklahoma's Colton Wiseley took runner up honors with an impressive run from 15th to 2nd. Polesitter Dylan Fox claimed show position honors with Anton Hernandez claiming the fourth and final lock in position to saturday night's season finale main event. Cyril, Oklahoma's Cord Dodson recovered from an early tumble, advancing from 24th to 5th for a spectacular Hard Charger effort.

Chance Morton, Johnny Boland, and Kyle Keeler took heat race wins over the 25 car Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted field.

A Feature 1: Morton, Chance (7m) 2: Wiseley, Colton (20) 3: Fox, Dylan (127) 4: Hernandez, Anton (11B) 5: Dodson, Cord (7) 6: Boland, Johnny (1) 7: Chandler, Grady (00) 8: Kinnison, Christian (82) 9: Harvey, Lyndon (99H) 10: Gennetten, Ayrton (144) 11: Ramey, McKenzie (17m) 12: Stringer, Bailey (97B) 13: White, Jeremy (33) 14: Gorham, Weston (71) 15: Goad, Trevor (4T) 16: McGuire, Mason (18) 17: Shores, Austin (8) 18: Stubblefield, Colby (2) 19: Goad, Shelby (18) 20: McDermott, Blake (12B) 21: Keeler, Kyle (27) 22: Smith, Steven (3s) 23: Klaasmeyer, Tucker (28) 24: Montgomery, Morgan (111) 25: Brimmer, Garron (3)

The Lucas Oil American Small Car Series returns Saturday night to complete the 2011 campaign, the Inaugural Cowtown Crown, and Cowtown Speedway's 2011 racing season. USRA Modifieds and Limited Modifieds will join the card in support with heat race action beginning at 6pm sharp.

Season Finale Showdown at Cowtown Crown!

Cody Morris, Tulsa, OK (11-8-2011) - Exactly five weeks after Cowtown Speedway commenced the first edition of the inaugural Cowtown Crown, the stars of the Lucas Oil American Small Car Series will once again set their sights on The Fastest Lil' Dirt Track in Texas this coming weekend for the conclusion of both the Cowtown Crown and the 2011 Lucas Oil American Small Car Series campaign.

While each of the three Lucas Oil ASCS2 point leaders enjoy comfortable margins, very little is ensured except two nights of tenacious mini sprint action featuring the top talents of the region. The highly anticipated event cannot come soon enough for Sooner state racing teams looking to escape a freak series of earthquakes quite close to Tulsa/OKC metro areas. Indeed, that rumble will shift south of the Red River a high banked 1/4 mile slice of heaven this coming weekend for the closing half of the 2011 Cowtown Crown.

It is an event of both achievement and defense. No driver in the field exemplifies this more than Sapulpa, Oklahoma's Blake Hahn. The defending 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion started his 2011 campaign with a bang. The sensational 17 year old has firmly established himself as one of the top young open wheel drivers in the nation.

In the past 12 months, the pilot of the Speedway Vending no. 52 got the better of a thrilling duel with fellow rising star Christopher Bell in the 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw title chase, and hardly six weeks after the hard fought championship, put nationwide Outlaw teams on their knees with a total sweep of Winged and Non-Winged Outlaw action at the 2011 Tulsa Shootout.

Shootout success has since been followed with a top ten finish in his first career ASCS sprint car start at Lawton Speedway, followed by a top 5 finish in ASCS Lone Star action at Texarkana, Arkansas. Hahn's 2011 dash also netted his 2nd and 3rd career Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget victories, as well as teaming with the stout Hard Eight Racing team for a 2012 Chili Bowl assault. And just this past saturday, Hahn snared his first USCS 600 victory at "The Ditch" - West Memphis, Arkansas' vaunted Riverside Speedway.

But where Hahn's 2011 success pertains to us most is his four 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw  feature wins and an incredible 255 point margin entering the ASCS2 Series finale this weekend at Cowtown Speedway. Hahn's dominance thus far in the 2011 ASCS2 Outlaw campaign has all but ensured his Championship defense, as with just a taking a green flag lap in either night of ASCS2 action at the Cowtown Crown, Hahn will be crowned the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion and also be the first driver in series' history to win back-to-back titles.

However, Hahn's eyes will be on the same prize as the rest of the field. Coweta, Oklahoma's Kade Morton will likely concede the title, he will be racing hard for his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw win. Lindsay, Oklahoma's Harli White enters the weekend with 55 points behind Morton's runner up pace. White can also boast a claim no other driver in the field can as she enters the 2nd half of the Cowtown Crown as the only driver to unseat Tyson Hall in Outlaw action at Cowtown Speedway.

A Longview, Texas native, Hall smashed the field in both ASCS2 Outlaw events at Cowtown to conclude 2010 action. A winner of the 1st part of the 2011 Cowtown Crown in October, Hall is 3 for 4 with only a Harli White rocketing to her first of three 2011 ASCS2 Outlaw scores at Cowtown Speedway in February.

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma's Steven Shebester has turned in a red hot 2011 campaign and enters the Lucas Oil ASCS2/Cowtown Crown finale with a 154 point advantage over Glenpool, Oklahoma's Matt Ward in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing title chase. Shebester possesses a Non Wing series best three victories in the 2011 campaign.

The 2011 campaign has been up and down at best for Matt Ward. A string of consistent finishes had Ward at the point late into the season, but a two weekends of excruciating misfortune saw that advantage turned upside down. Ward enters the Cowtown fray 57 markers ahead of Harli White in the 2011 Non Wing push, as White has come on extremely strong in the highly competitive Non Wing division. A string of top ten finishes, including her first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing score at South Coffeyville, Oklahoma's Mid America Speedway, has boosted White from a midseason 8th to currently a third place position entering the weekend.

Coweta, Oklahoma native Chance Morton has a strong argument for MVP among the three Lucas Oil American Small Car Series divisions. In 12 starts gainst an exceptionally talented 2011 Restricted division, Morton has notched a top ten finish in all 12 events, including an ASCS2 best ten top 10 finishes and another ASCS2 best, five main event feature wins.

So strong is the field that despite Morton's dominance, Atoka, Oklahoma's Austin Shores has also matched the perfect top ten consistency and along with his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted feature win at Oklahoma City's I-44 Speedway in May, Shores enters the 2011 season finale 122 markers behind Morton's staggering pace in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASC2 Restricted division title chase.

Cyril, Oklahoma's Cord Dodson enters the season finale third in the Restricted ranks, trailing Morton by 158 markers on the strength of 11 top ten finishes, with 7 of those finishes being of of the top five variety. Kennedale, Texas' hometown favorite Christian Kinnison enters the finale fourth in the Restricted ranks, with February's ASCS2 Restricted winner at Cowtown Speedway and El Reno, Oklahoma native Kyle Keeler fifth in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted campaign.

The Lucas Oil American Small Car Series will headline the last half of the Cowtown Crown this coming friday and saturday at Kennedale, Texas' Cowtown Speedway. Friday night's green flag will drop at 7pm with the Saturday night finale commencing at 6pm. Points and purse will be awarded BOTH NIGHTS.

Local/regional USRA Modifieds and Limited Modifieds will join the Lucas Oil American Small Car Series action Saturday night only. The Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted divisions will run full shows (heats and features) for purse and points each night.

Rain Shortens Cowtown Crown Round One

Cody Morris, KENNEDALE,TX (10-8-2011) - Over 90 Lucas Oil American Small Car Series race teams were joined by nearly 50 local Cowtown modifieds and limited modifieds in dashing through the Saturday night completion of round one of the 2011 Cowtown Crown.

The slowly encroaching wall of water finally invaded Cowtown Speedway confines as Limited Modifieds kicked off main event action with the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event awaiting their turn in the staging area.

The $1,000 to win/$100 to start purse was doled out evenly among main event qualifiers in the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw and Non Wing divisions. The $500 to win $50 to start Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted purse suffered the same fate.

The 2011 Lucas Oil American Small Car Series campaign will draw to a close with a November 11th and 12th weekend finale also anointing the 2011 Cowtown Crown.

Details for this event will be released shortly.

Win #5 for Morton; Hall Doubles Up in Cowtown Crown Opener!!

Cody Morris, KENNEDALE,TX (10-7-2011) - Approximately 90 Lucas Oil ASCS2 entries joined gale force winds in welcoming Fort Worth area race fans to the opening night of the inaugural Cowtown Crown.

Encompassing the 2011 campaign finale of Lucas Oil American Small Car Series action, the Cowtown Crown features 4 nights of Lucas Oil ASCS2 action split into two weekends. As the first of the final two weekends of the 2011 campaign arrived, it was very much a make or break event for many competitors doggedly fighting for their 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Championship hopes amidst the tremendous southerly winds.

The headlining Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event would be led to green by Longview, Texas native Tyson Hall. A sweeper of Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw action in the final pair of Outlaw competitions at Cowtown Speedway in 2010, the 22 year old hadhis eyes set on repeat success in the 25 lap Outlaw main event.

After an inadvertant caution nixed the first attempt to get a lap in the books, inside second row starter Tyler Courtney gunned by Hall and fellow front row starter Dustin Gates.

Several high speed battles would ensue over the early course of the 25 lap affair as Hall powered back by Courtney on lap 5. Courtney and Hall would battle intensely for the lead while Shreveport, Lousiana's Dustin Gates repeatedly traded third with Sapulpa, Oklahoma's reigning Lucas Oil ASCS2 Champ Blake Hahn.

However, the lightning fast cycle would be greatly altered as Courtney lost power at the halfway point, casting Hahn into the runner upo spot behind Hall, followed by Gates, Chance Terrell, and Drew Salisbury.

Hahn would immediately begin an intense assault on Hall's advantage, despite two ensuing stoppages. A lap 20 caution for Philip Davis' stalled speedster set up a 5 lap dash between Hahn and Hall.

That dash received a big suprise in the form of a huge Dustin Gates slider delivered under the leaders entering turn two. However, Hall and Hahn rocketed back by on the top side of turn two before gaining marginal advantage.

Hahn would continue to shadow Hall in every turn, sliding underneath several times in the final 4 laps, but Tyson Hall's groove would prove quickest as he took a 2 car length advantage across the finish line for his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw triumph of the 2011 season aboard the Pine Tree Motors, Guhl Injection, and Devo Motors sponsored black and blue no. 5x

Hahn settled for runner up honors aboard the Speedway Vending no. 52, taking another leap in his bid for a succesfull Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw title defense. Lousiana's Gates took show position honors across the line.

A winner of season opening Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw action at Cowtown Speedway, Lindsay, Oklahoma's Harli White rallied from her 18th starting position to claim fourth, with Oklahoma City's Chance Terrell completing the top 5 running order.

Tyler Courtney, Blake Hahn, and Dustin Gates took heat race honors over the 22 car Outlaw field.

In Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing competition, Wyatt Rector led a loaded field to green in the 25 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event. However, deja vu would propel Longview, Texan Tyson Hall into the early lead.

Hall's blistering pace would yield less challenge to his lead, but the action immediately behind would set up fiercely with hometown favorite Jeb Sessums, EMSA series' leader Jacob Lucas and current Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing leader Steven Shebester.

A marathon of stoppages would be concluded by a lap 23 stoppage as Kyle Anderson flipped hard into the turn three catch fence, setting up a two lap dash for the win with Hall leading Shebester, Sessums, Harli White, and Keith Martin, after the latter worked his way through the entire 24 car field following an early spin.

Hall would go virtually unchallenged in snaring his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing victory of the season aboard the increasingly familiar Pine Tree Motors, Guhl Injection, and Devo Motors sponsored no. 5x.

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma's Steven Shebester took runner up honors, while also nearly doubling his point advantage in the 2011 title pursuit after Glenpool's Matt Ward failed to qualify for the Non Wing main event.

Sessums crossed the finish line 3rd, with White advancing from 10th to 4th and Jacob Lucas completing the top 5 running order.

Kyle Jones, Dalton Steed, Tyson Hall, Steven Shebester, and Jeb Sessums earned heat race honors over the 43 car Non Wing field, with Taylor Smitherman and George White each taking wins in B feature action.

Coweta, Oklahoma's Chance Morton entered the Cowtowb Crown with a sizeable advantage in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted campaign on the strength of four main event victories.

While Ashley Reagan commenced the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event and led lap 1, Morton would rocket into 2nd by that time and quickly overpower Reagan midway through the 2nd circuit.

It was a lead Morton would never surrender, as he annihilated a Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event field for a series' best fifth time of the 2011 campaign aboard the Morton Excavating, Intruder Chassis, Momo's Racing Engines, and Napa sponsored no. 7m.

Cyril, Oklahoma native and outside front row starter Cord Dodson would maintain that spot to the finish line with Reagan accepting show position honors. Kennedale's McKenzie Ramey earned her first Lucas Oil ASCS2 top 5 finish with a fourth place effort while fellow Texas Aaron Dromgoole completed the top 5 running order.

Grady Chandler, Morgan Roan, and McKenzie Ramey earned heat race victories over the 22 car Restricted division.

Red River Rivalry Kicks off Cowtown Crown Part One!!
Cody Morris, Tulsa,OK (10-4-2011) - This coming weekend will see the Lone Star state on center stage as a rowdy group of sooner invaders set their sights on Kennedale, Texas' Cowtown Speedway. With a perfect noontime Saturday backdrop in the form of the annual Oklahoma vs. Texas Red River Rivalry, race fans will have their own rivalry play out in primetime this Friday and Saturday night.

This coming weekend will launch the first of two fall season weekends of the highly anticipated Cowtown Crown featuring the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted divisions. And it's not just loot on the line, but a major step toward crowning a trio of Lucas Oil American Small Car Series Champions.

After exploding onto the open wheel racing scene with a hard fought 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship over fellow talent Christopher Bell, as well as an Outlaw class sweep at the 2011 Tulsa Shootout, Sapulpa, Oklahoma's Blake Hahn returns to Cowtown Speedway clay with a series' best four victories and a huge point advantage in his bid for second consecutive Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Title.

A pair of Sooner state talents will look to keep their title chances alive with Coweta, Oklahoma's Kade Morton traling Hahn by 229 points and Sand Springs, Oklahoma native Dalton Wiseley another 43 markers behind Morton.

A winner in 2011 season opening Outlaw action at Cowtown Speedway, Lindsay, Oklahoma's Harli White straddles 4th in the 2011 Outlaw campaign on the strength of a trio of victories. A recent addition to the Shanon McQueen Webster Racing team for the 2012 Chili Bowl, White will be among the heavy favorites on hand for round one of the 2011 Cowtown Crown.

In what has turned out to be a ferocious campaign to the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing title, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma's Steven Shebester takes a 70 point advantage into Cowtown action in his bid to better his Non Wing runner up finish a season ago.

Oklahoma City's Trey Marcham sits 70 points behind Shebester's leading pace. A two time winner with a series' best 8 top 10 finishes, Marcham's pace would be supreme if not for an absence in the first night of a weekend of Independence Day action at Fort Cobb's Duttons Speedway. Perenially a strong contender on Cowtown clay, Marcham will be on a mission to trim that margin this weekend.

A disastrous Labor Day Weekend could not have ended soon enough for Glenpool, Oklahoma's Matt Ward. A Creek County tumble and early exit would ultimately lead to a failure to launch the following night at Mid America Speedway. Ward trails Shebester by 77 points with four point events remaining in the 2011 campaign. all at the high banked Cowtown 1/4 mile.

Coweta, Oklahoma native Chance Morton has been dominant over an extremely talented field of Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted pilots. With a series' best four 2011 triumps, Morton brings an 88 point advantage into Cowtown Crown action over Atoka's Austin Shores.

It's a deficit Shores' has fought tooth and nail to keep reasonable. Shores' joins Morton as the two sole Restricted drivers to finish in the top 10 in each of the 11 events contestes thus far in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted campaign.

Cyril, Oklahoma's Cord Dodson trails Morton by 150 markers entering the Cowtown Crown and will be a dual threat as the versatile talent will take on the best of both Restricted and Non Wing talents this weekend.

Hometown favorite Christian Kinnison enters the Cowtown double 4th in Restricted points, nine markers ahead of El Reno, Oklahoma's Kyle Keeler.

The 2011 Cowtown Crown will feature a popular change for Lucas Oil American Small Car Series race teams and regional racing fans, with a complete set of heat races and main events planned for both Friday and Saturday, historically opposed to the heat race action on friday and features on saturday.

The ASCS2 Outlaw and Non Wing divisions will be racing for $500 to win and 50$ to start on Friday night, with $1,000 to win and $100 to start on the line in the saturday night finale. The ASCS2 Restricted division will be racing for $250 to win and $50 to start Friday night, with $500 going to Saturday night's winner and $75 to start the main event.

The 2011 Cowtown Crown kicks off this Friday night, October 7th with a weekend finale Saturday night, October 8th. The second edition of the 2011 Cowtown Crown is scheduled for the November 11-12 weekend.

Open Wheel Incoming at Creek County Speedway!

Cody Morris, TULSA, OK (9-13-2011) - Following a successful reopening of Emmett Hahn’s Creek County Speedway over Labor Day Weekend, the Lucas Oil American Small Car Series will headline a second serving this coming Saturday, September 17th.

Storming into Creek County for a 2nd edition, the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted divisions will once again highlight an exclusively open wheel card also featuring the Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midgets and lightning fast regional Champ Sprints.

5 winners stand in defense of their Labor Day triumphs at Creek County’s grand reopening. An Outlaw sweeper of Tulsa Shootout Outlaw action to accompany his 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Championship crown, Sapulpa’s sensational hometown star Blake Hahn eyes a defense of both his reigning title and his Labor Day score at Creek County’s reopening.

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma’s Steven Shebester took full advantage of a strong Labor Day Weekend, turning a deficit into a 25 point advantage following his Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing score at Creek County Speedway. The Creek County score was perfectly timed as Shebester eyes his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing crown after a close runner up finish to eventual champion and Norman, Oklahoma phenom Christopher Bell.

Piedmont, Oklahoma’s Grady Chandler snared a hard fought Creek County win in the Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted ranks. Fending off a race long challenge from El Reno’s Kyle Keeler, Chandler’s disciplined performance would net him the first Lucas Oil ASCS2 victory of his young career.

2009 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw champion Kevin Bayer aced a highly competitive 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget main event in the Labor Day Weekend reopening of Creek County Speedway. A native of nearby Bixby, Oklahoma, the win marked Bayer’s second ASCS EcoTec Midget victory following an I-30 triumph in June.

Collinsville, Oklahoma’s Brian McClelland earned a impressive victory in the action packed Champ Sprint division in Labor Day action at Creek County Speedway. The Broken Arrow native piloted Kelly Fode’s familiar 7F to victory just ahead of fellow Collinsville native Layne Heimbaugh’s thrilling Hard Charger effort from the outside sixth row to the runner up spot.

The Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted divisions will NOT be racing for official points in the 2011 campaign. The 2011 Lucas Oil Outlaw, Non Wing, and Restricted campaigns will officially resume Friday, October 7th at Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas.

Four Score Creek County Victories!

Cody Morris, SAPULPA, OK (9-2-2011) - A total of 80 open wheel racecars gathered for the grand reopening of Emmett Hahn's Creek County Speedway Friday night. For the first time in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 campaign, the ASCS EcoTec Midgets joined their Lucas Oil American Small Car Series counterparts for an action packed evening of open wheel racing.

Pauls Valley, Oklahoma mini sprint ace Steven Shebester nabbed a crucial win to narrow his deficit in the 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing pursuit, while Piedmont, Oklahoma's Grady Chandler fought off a race long challenge in achieving the first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event triumph of his young career.

Bixby, Oklahoma's Kevin Bayer led the Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget main event to the green flag, but very few of the 20 laps would be easy. Bayer would fight off continuous assaults from Broken Arrow's Chett Gehrke until the 7th lap, when Gehrke looked a little too low and tagged an infield tire, shearing off hs left front tire completely and retiring his black no. 9 for the remainder of the event.

That caution period would provide spectacle of its' own, as a disagreement over the restart lineup between a pair of Broken Arrow natives, Colton Brewer and Brian McClelland, would begin with continuous bumper checks and culminate in Brewer spinning McClelland under yellow, with Brewer ultimately receiving disqualification and a round of applause from spectators.

The lap 8 restart would see Blake Hahn move into the runner up spot and begin immediate challenge of Bayer. Hahn's constant shadowing of Bayer would be nixed as Hahn collided with an infield tire entering turn one while attempting a pass for the lead.

Bayer would go unchallenged the final 4 circuits, leading wire to wire for his first career Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget victory aboard the Eric and Jessica Fenton owned Southside Mowers, Maruyama Power Equipment, Revolution Racing Engines, and Fenton Graphics sponsored purple no. 72k.

A winner in the first EcoTec Midget event at Creek County in May of 2010, Glenpool's Matt Ward took runner up honors with Collinsville, Oklahoma's Layne Heimbaugh taking the show position aboard the Smiley's no. 84 entry.

Jenks, Oklahoma's Eric Fenton crossed the stripe fourth, with Blake Hahn rebounding from his lap 16 mishap to complete the top 5 running order. Hahn and Gehrke too heat race honors over the 10 car Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget field.

A Feature 1: Bayer, Kevin (72k) 2: Ward, Matt (51) 3: Heimbaugh, Layne (84) 4: Fenton, Eric (72) 5: Hahn, Blake (52) 6: McClelland, Brian (29) 7:Gehrke, Chett (9) 8: Felker, Andrew (1) 9: Dobson, Karley Kay (28) 10: Brewer, Colton (77) DQ

Sensational hometown favorite Blake Hahn took yet another step toward becoming the first back to back Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion, while Bixby, Oklahoma's Kevin Bayer earned his first Lucas Oil ASCS EcoTec Midget score.

The headlining 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw main event would be led to green by Sand Springs, Oklahoma native Dalton Wiseley, but it would be outside front row starter and current 2010 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw point leader Blake Hahn rocketing into the early lead.

Hahn's move into the point would prove insurmountable despite a caution with 4 laps remaining, leading wire to wire to claim his third Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw victory of the 2011 campaign aboard the Speedway Vending, Metric Cycles, Simpson, Hoosier Tires, Afco Shocks, and Racin' Boys Lawn Care sponsored yellow and blue no. 52

Hahn would be chased to the stripe by Skiatook native and 2008 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw Champion Jerrod Wilson, with Wilson taking Hard Charger honors advancing from 11th to the runner up spot. Wiseley would claim show position honors with Carl's Junction, Missouri native Andrew Felker and Coweta, Oklahoma native Kade Morton completing the top 5 running order.

Felker and Hahn took heat race wins over the 15 car Lucas Oil ASCS2 Outlaw field.

A Feature 1: Hahn, Blake (52) 2: Wilson, Jerrod (8J) 3: Wiseley, Dalton (22) 4: Felker, Andrew (11A) 5: Morton, Kade (8m) 6: McClelland, Brian (129) 7: White, Harli (17) 8: Terrell, Chance (60) 9: Lambert, Trey (93) 10: Kirkes, Rick (72k) 11: Davis, Philip (69x) 12: Andrews, Chris (8) 13: Harvey, Will (2) 14: Cantrell, Eric (05) 15: Ward, Matt (51)

Reigning Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted Champion and Hulbert, Oklahoma native Karley Kay Dobson led the 20 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing main event to a start that would be twice delayed, first by a Taylor Smitherman and David Chilcoat collision and secondly by a Dobson spin that would relegate her to the tal of the field.

The third start would prove good with Bixby's Kevin Bayer attaining the early lead, only to see an orange and black flash as Pauls Valley, Oklahoma native Steven Shebester went flying by on the high side on lap 3.

Immediately following Shebester's move into the lead, Non Wing point leader Matt Ward would flip violently along with Lindsay's Harli White in turn one. Both would emerge safe, but done for the night.

Shebester would waste no time in building a comfortable advantage. Fighting off one last race stoppage at the halfway point, Shebester clicked off the final 10 laps in lightning quick fashion, taking his third Lucas Oil ASCS2 Non Wing victory of the 2011 campaign by a full straightaway margin aboard the Concept Chassis, Metric Cycles, Keiser Wheels, C&D Ditching, Shebester Carbs, and Gordon Seros Racing Engines sponsored no. 82.

Tulsa's Matt Sherrell advanced from his outside third row starting spot to nab runner up honors in his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 start of the 2011 season, with Oklahoma City's Trey Marcham battling back from an early spin to claim show position honors. Kevin Bayer and Karley Kay Dobson completed the top 5 running order.

A Feature 1: Shebester, Steven (82) 2: Sherrell, Matt (35) 3: Marcham, Trey (321) 4: Bayer, Kevin (72) 5: Dobson, Karley Kay (28) 6: Chillcoat, David (21) 7: Dodson, Cord (7) 8: Lambert, Trey (93) 9: Valenzuela, Charles (70) 10: Edwards, Blake (17E) 11: Ward, Matt (51) 12: White, Harli (17) 13: Smitherman, Taylor (21) 14: Franklin, Dean (77)

El Reno, Oklahoma's Kyle Keeler led the 15 lap Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted main event to its' beginning, but it would be fellow front row starter and Piedmont, Oklahoma native Grady Chandler gunning into the early lead.

Chandler continued to reel off laps with Keeler hot on his trail, with the latter persistently pulling alongside the leader in his pursuit. Chandler would fend off each challenge en route to his first Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted victory aboard the Mel Mark Parts Supply, KMK Enterprises, Ruston Racing and Development, Great Plains Oil Field Rental, Bishops Racing Components, Outlaw Wings, Bickel Engineering, and Metric Cycles sponsored no. 00.

Keeler would ultimately settle for runner up honors and his sixth top 5 finish of the 2011 campaign. Atoka's Austin Shores would further his rookie effort with Hard Charger honors, advancing from 12th to 3rd. Aaron Dromgoole and current 2011 Lucas Oil ASCS2 Restricted point leader Chance Morton completed the top 5 running order.
